Three of our athletes completed this very challenging weekend event in Wales, accompanied by a few familiar faces of past members. The format takes the form of a full distance triathlon with each element split across a weekend which becomes a celebration of triathlon in a beautiful setting. The event started with the 2.4mile Swim Wales on the Friday evening in Tenby bay in rainy, windy and choppy conditions. This was followed by the 112 mile Wales Sportive setting off at 7am on the Saturday and taking in some costal views and lovely welsh climbs, all rounded off with more hills in the Wales Marathon on the Sunday.
Highlights of the event included Tom Whitmore finishing 8th overall in the Wales Marathon in a fantastic time of 2:56:55 and Amy Whitmore and Millie Crane ending Friday evening as 9th and 10th Females in the long course field following the swim element of the event. Millie Crane absolutely smashed her Ironman PB in Hamburg, completing the race in 11:21:46 - a phenomenal 52 minutes faster than Barcelona in 2022. Not only did Millie PB on all sections of the race, a 3rd category position in the swim (just 27 seconds behind first place) leaves the rest of us asking if Millie has been eating motor boats again (not for the first time).
Millie's brilliant 13th category position qualifies her for the World Championship event in Nice this September. Good Luck Millie!

A bit of everything at this cross country.
