In September 2021 I couldn’t swim 50m without gasping for breath. I started swimming with the sole purpose of completing a triathlon I had longed to complete. I joined the club in the summer of 2022 after a friend had repeatedly invited me down to Twiggy's swim sessions. I was reluctant to go given how weak a swimmer I was at that time having only just stretched out a super sprint triathlon (400m pool swim) but I am so glad I eventually went!

Everyone was very welcoming and encouraging and good friends have since been made. As of today, I enjoy regular pool and open water swimming with the club, have completed two Olympic distance triathlons with my sights now set on middle distance for 2024. I love the club and want others to get the benefits from it that I have.

I first joined LTC when someone challenged me to swim the Bournemouth Pier to Pier event years ago. Once I had started training with LTC at Watermead, I was hooked.

I am a Swim England Level 3 Swim Coach and Swim England/BTF Level 2 Open Water Coach.

Hello I joined the Leicester Triathlon Club a few years ago. I enjoy the social events and love summer training at the lake with a parkrun straight after.  Great to cycle there and get a nice endurance workout done. In winter it's the cross country I enjoy that has the social side of things.

The Triathlon Club hosts for all abilities and ages and it is never to late to start a sport. I didn't start running until my 40s and at 50 I won the over 50s competition at Puregym.

I am also a strength and conditioning coach and Running Coach.

I have been a member of the club for around 8 years having joined with my daughter as we were both keen club swimmers looking to open water swim. I soon became involved in the other sessions offered by the club and have competed in sprint and Olympic distance triathlons.

Alongside my position as club Welfare Officer I am also one of the Open Water Organisers.

I was originally a part of the tri club in the early 90s. I took a break for family and work commitments. I have returned to the sport a couple of years ago and have enjoyed getting back into the mixed disciplines.

I have been a member of Leicester Tri club for about 10 years.  I have competed in several races at Sprint and Olympic distances but it is the social training sessions that I enjoy the most.
